About Me

Hi, I am Jeremy Shattuck

Editor / VFX Editor / Writer

My career is built at the intersection of collaboration and divergent thinking: understanding a creative vision and reimagining workflows to bring it to life.

As a VFX Editor and Lead Assistant Editor with 13+ years of experience, I don’t just manage assets; I work alongside creators to flag issues others might miss, providing actionable solutions in the cut. By combining a sharp eye for visual detail with technical oversight, I aim to create the headroom teams need to focus on story.

From the XML-driven dailies and conform workflows of David Fincher’s Mank to the three-year VFX journey of Hulu’s Washington Black, I’ve learned that a project’s backbone should be as polished as the image itself.

An interview I did with CineMontage about VFX Editing.

  • I believe that well-crafted content is not the result of a director or producer but the thoughtful collaboration of many.
  • Time spent today creates time tomorrow: Well-thought-out workflows create time for tasks we—already—didn’t have the time for.
  • As a writer and musician, I approach the edit with a focus on story beats and pulse. I love helping bring this unique visual rhythm to life through creative partnership
