Based on the critically acclaimed novel, ‘Washington Black‘ is an enthralling limited Hulu series following the extraordinary journey of a young man escaping slavery and navigating a world of scientific discovery and profound challenges.
My Role & Impact:
Sole VFX Editor for the entire series, overseeing all visual-effects sequences from temp to final, ensuring narrative clarity, pacing, and creative intent for directors, producers, and showrunners.
Shaped, refined, and cut VFX shots to maintain cinematic storytelling, integrating color and motion elements to support the overall vision.
Led review sessions with directors, producers, and stakeholders, providing actionable editorial feedback to achieve the intended story and emotional impact.
Enhanced post and VFX workflows through pipeline improvements, Python scripting, and database design and automation, supporting team productivity while maintaining creative standards.
